Meridian Nurse Arrested on Medicaid Scams Charges

JACKSON, Miss. (WJTV)– A Meridian signed up nurse was detained after being implicated of taking prescription drugs that were planned for numerous of her clients.

Attorney General of the United States Jim Hood stated 31-year-old Kristina Nechol Lewis was detained Friday following an indictment by a Lauderdale County Grand Jury on 3 counts of acquiring belongings of an illegal drug by scams, misstatement or subterfuge.

Lewis worked as a Registered Nurse at the Golden Living Center in Meridian.

The indictment charges Lewis with getting Norco including Hydrocodone– a Schedule II illegal drug– from 3 clients at the center, and transforming it to her own use, inning accordance with AG Hood.

Her bond was set at $15,000.

If found guilty of the 3 counts, Lewis confronts 15 years in jail and an overall fine of $3,000.
